While doing more research into the whole Sparks debacle, it seems that as early as october 2008, Miller Brewing Comapny (who owns sparks & Zima) had decided to discontinue making the Zima brand of beverages to give more popular brands of drinks more exposure. The brand they were looking to push? Sparks! It seems this whole investigation, led by 13 state attorney generals, either broadsided Miller’s plans with a strong group effort or had some serious dirt on Sparks to make Miller decide to fold altogether.
